Heartbreaking Middle-Age Shepherd Surrendered To Kill Shelter, Openly Wept As His Owner Walked Away

MDS, a kill shelter with a notorious high-kill rate, is not the ideal place to surrender a dog. The shelter, which struggles with overcrowding gives dogs weeks, and sometimes even just days to find forever families before the unthinkable happens: euthanasia.

A Petharbor listing for Kety reads,
“I am a spayed female black and tan German Shepherd Dog.
The shelter staff think I am about 8 years old and I weigh 55 pounds.”

The Carson Shelter advocacy group Saving Carson Shelter dogs, took to their Facebook page to post the heartbreaking last encounter they witnessed between KETY and her owner saying,

“Sweet senior Kety #A1794427 was surrendered by her owner at 8yrs of age💔seems like she recently had puppies, most likely she was bred over and over again and then dumped like many😭
kety is really sad and afraid at the shelter and needs our help”

Speak Up! if you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Miami Dade Animal Services at (305) 8841101 or 311 and reference the shelter ID #A1794427

Additionally, please share this story of KETY on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding her a home. We have done it many times before and can certainly do it again.
