14 Weeks Old Shepherd Puppy Mercilessly Surrendered to High Kill Shelter

For a 14 Weeks Old Shepherd, the days don’t seem like they will get any easier. Her owner didn’t want her anymore, and so she gathered all of her toys, and her beloved dog bed, loaded her into a car, and mercilessly surrendered her to the Riverside County Shelter.

The Riverside County is not your average shelter to say and write the least. The notoriously high kill facility is grappling with overcrowding, and so “hard decisions” have to be made, to maintain “population control” as one volunteer put it. That means that the dogs and cats trapped inside the facility have just a few weeks and sometimes even just days to find forever families, before they are brought the back, and prepped for euthanasia.

14 Weeks Old Shepherd, who at her young age seems to sense that the stakes are high, can often be found tucked away shaking in her favorite bed, cowering in fear from the noise and chaos that is the Riverside County Shelter. When the lights go out, and everyone goes to sleep, soft and subtle weeping could be heard coming from her kennel space. This unnamed pup cries herself to sleep every night wondering what on earth she did to deserve her new fate. Sad indeed.

Speak Up, if you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Riverside County Animal Control - City of Fontana at (951) 358-7387 and reference the shelter ID #A1348684.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding this pup a forever family. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
