Terrified 3-year-old German Shepherd Living In High Kill Shelter, Paralyzed by Fear

Life at the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California can be best described as a living hell for the dogs and cats who make the place a temporary home. If walls within the high-kill, cash-strapped, city-funded facility could talk, it would tell you all about the unspeakable hardships that animals trapped inside the kennels go through. For most, Carson is the last stop, because statistically speaking, most animals who go in, very rarely make it out.

One dog who could tell you all about the politics of Carson is a 3-year-old German shepherd by the name of Shira. Shira’s former owner didn’t want her anymore, and so in a stunning betrayal, he brought her to Carson knowing full well what lays ahead of her if she doesn’t find a home.

According to my source at the shelter, Shira is devastated and paralyzed by the chaos and noise that is life inside the Carson Animal shelter. The saddened and depressed pup has forgone playing with her toys, and instead tucks herself away in a corner, gently weeping herself to sleep each night. Sad indeed.

Fidonation, we can change that. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5033957.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding this Shira a home.
