12-Year-Old Ailing Senior Shepherd Locked Away In Busy Kill Animal Control

An ailing senior dog, suffering from a number of maladies, is locked away in a kennel run at a busy California animal control. The 10-year-old dog, named “Screwball,” is being held at the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Baldwin Park, agency.

Screwball has been at the animal control facility since January 6 – he is sick and he needs to be spoiled and pampered as he recuperates from his health problems, not surrounded by the stressful, loud barks and cries from other distressed dogs inside of the busy building.

On February 11, a woman who volunteers her time photographing the homeless dogs at this shelter wrote a post for Facebook on this dog’s behalf:

Screwball is a sweet 10 yr old neutered male black/brown Terrier mix who was confiscated from his owner on 1/26/17 (along with Mitzy – A4538826 – next photo). available 2/9/17. He has a bad case of dermatitis, infected eyes and seems to have a bad case of kennel cough 🙁 He’s very affectionate and deserves a soft bed to land in ASAP.

Mitzy, Screwball’s canine friend, is also in need of help. Mitzy is a 12-year-old shepherd mix who was seized from her owner along with Screwball – Mitzy’s Petharbor ID number is A4538826.

It is apparent that Mitzy and Screwball have been dealt a difficult hand – life has not been easy – life has not been kind. Please share their adoption information and help them find the help that they desperately need and deserve.
